This was performed on the Bovenkerk Hinsz virtual instrument for Hauptwerk. Gert made a recording of this on the actual Bovenkerk organ, which isn't currently on YouTube. I aimed for 100% accuracy to his registrations in that recording since I'm using the virtual version of that instrument. This is Richard Elliott's arrangement of the song "Battle Cry of Freedom" which was written by George Frederick Root during the American Civil War. Although originally a Union patriotic song, it was adopted by the Confederacy with new lyrics.
Richard Elliott played this arrangement for the broadcast of "Music and the Spoken Word" on July 4th, 2010. That performance is also available on YouTube, and can be found under the title "Rally Round the Flag".

This latest offering is a lively dance composed Tylman Susato (c.1500-c.1564). "Mohrentanz" translates roughly as "Peasant Dance".
I perform this piece with a very full registration throughout. You will also hear the Haverhill organ's Trompette en Chamade. Sometimes, this reed's "Spanish" character is a bit overwhelming, but it seems perfectly suited for this music. The choir contrasts the chamade with it's reeds and cornet.

This was performed on the Salisbury virtual instrument for Hauptwerk virtual pipe organ. This is a recording I've been wanting to make for a long time, and I'm happy to be able to have it out for Christmas! I used Reaper, the East West Symphonic Orchestra, and some custom scripts to add the percussion. Enjoy!

This was performed on the Bovenkerk Hinsz virtual instrument for Hauptwerk. Gert made a recording of this on the actual Bovenkerk organ, which isn't currently on YouTube. I aimed for 100% accuracy to his registrations in that recording since I'm using the virtual version of that instrument. This is Richard Elliott's arrangement of the song "Battle Cry of Freedom" which was written by George Frederick Root during the American Civil War. Although originally a Union patriotic song, it was adopted by the Confederacy with new lyrics.
Richard Elliott played this arrangement for the broadcast of "Music and the Spoken Word" on July 4th, 2010. That performance is also available on YouTube, and can be found under the title "Rally Round the Flag".

This latest offering is a lively dance composed Tylman Susato (c.1500-c.1564). "Mohrentanz" translates roughly as "Peasant Dance".
I perform this piece with a very full registration throughout. You will also hear the Haverhill organ's Trompette en Chamade. Sometimes, this reed's "Spanish" character is a bit overwhelming, but it seems perfectly suited for this music. The choir contrasts the chamade with it's reeds and cornet.
This recording was made using Hauptwerk v4 with the Haverhill OIC sample set by David Butcher of Lavender Audio.
