Maharashtra: Meet the rapid response team, tranquilizing unruly tigers in forests

The Economic Times Acting as a wall of defence between animals and humans, forest officials in Maharashtra’s largest tiger reserve are in action. Given the growing cases of tiger-human conflict in Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts in Maharashtra, In the last 10 years, the forest department has tranquilized and captured a total of 62 tigers that have entered human settlements. Forest officials from ‘Tadoba National Park’ Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra have played a key role in this operation. With the help of machines, binoculars, and drones, forest officials can capture the tiger safely.
