ShanghaiEye魔都眼 Electric or hybrid vehicles are in the spotlight at this year’s Beijing Auto Show. China's largest auto show, opening on Thursday, will feature 117 global debut vehicles, including 278 models powered by electric, hybrid, and hydrogen energy.
Porsche premieres its highly anticipated all-electric Macan globally in China.
Crowds thronged to the booths of Chinese companies like BYD and newcomer Xiaomi. BYD, the leading global EV producer, displayed its premium Yangwang and Denza brands.
National brands like SAIC Roewe are also ramping up their focus on new energy vehicles. Their latest model, the Roewe D5X, endorsed by well-known former footballer Fan Zhiyi, highlights the vehicle’s long-lasting hybrid battery, strong power, and suitability for various road conditions.
The auto show, running until early next month, comes as new energy vehicle sales surpassing 50% of China’s car market in early April. In terms of new energy vehicles, China has led the global market for nine consecutive years.
