Hey guys, this is Sean from L4PQ, with a couple tips on tanking in Tower of Fantasy.
So as a tank, you DO NOT want to tank. Yeah, kind of counterintuitive, I know. You don't want to take a bunch of damage; you want to DODGE a bunch of damage. But try to dodge in a way that keeps the boss near the same spot or try to make it easy for the dps to deal damage. That is the true role of a tank in ToF: making boss fights as brain dead as possible for the dps.
That's why dodging is so important. When you perfect dodge, you trigger phantasia, which creates a dome where time is super slowed to the point where enemies inside are basically frozen in time.
Secondly, you want to do everything you can to shatter boss shields. Shileds reduce damage taken by 50% and bosses use a special skill if you don't shatter it! Don't be afraid to die in order to shatter shields, as a team mate can revive you if you do die. However, if the boss wrecks the whole team, that's gg for that run. Obviously though, don't throw your life away if there is no chance of shattering.
But that's basically it. As a tank, you don't want to soak up damage. You want to position the boss, so it's easier for the dps, hopefully whales, to kill the boss more easily and quickly. Hope this helps and good luck to all the f2p players out there!
