Ms. Raquitera Habakkuk 3:17–18 Reminds Us That We Always Have God
17Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the 18LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Suffering is losing things in this world that we love, that we desire, that are in many ways good for us and comforting to us. Like if we lose someone we love, that's suffering. When we lose our health and we're in pain or we're fighting cancer, that's suffering.
No matter what happened nor what God chose to do, Habakkuk could still rejoice, for his hope and faith and joy were in God alone. In His time, God would deliver the righteous and fulfill His covenant promises. Until then, God was the source of His strength, strength which would sustain him in the dark days ahead.
