Die Ernährung von Primaten in Zoos ist aufwendig. Hier bekommt eine Gruppe von Kattas eine Zwischenmahlzeit aus frischem Laub. Dabei fällt auf, dass die Nahrungsaufnahme anders erfolgt als bei Trockennasenaffen. Die Greiffähigkeit der Hände ist noch nicht voll entwickelt, sodass sie zwar die Äste ergreifen, die Blätter jedoch meist direkt mit dem Mund abzupfen.
Feeding primates in zoos is a complex process. Here, a group of ring-tailed lemurs are given a snack of fresh leaves. The food is primarily used to keep them occupied. It is noticeable that food intake is different from that of dry-nosed monkeys. Their hands are not yet fully developed, so although they grasp the branches, they usually pluck the leaves directly with their mouths.
