Some teachers claim that Petra will be a place of refuge for the remnant, who they say are 144,000 Jews, during the tribulation of the final days before the judgement. But does this match with the place of refuge being described as “the wilderness” in Revelation 12? Petra was a thriving city when the book of Revelation was written and not a wilderness!
