After admitting to 4 counts of attempted lewd and lascivious molestation of children under 12 years old, Asher Syed Yaseen, a former substitute teacher at several elementary schools including Boggy Creek, Ventura, and Pleasant Hill, was sentenced to 8 years in prison and ordered to pay $2676 in court costs.
Yaseen waived his right to trial and was designated a sexual predator. Upon release, he will be deported. Yaseen's victims, 9 girls between the ages of 6 and 8, came forward over two years ago. Evidence presented in court included Yaseen's admission of molesting children at other schools and his statement of finding the children "attractive and beautiful."
Yaseen was first arrested in March of 2019 when he was 19 years old, and in January of an undisclosed year, he wrote a letter to a judge in which he claimed to be a "descendant of a spirit created from fire" and expressed a desire to "collect souls of the innocent."
