Pearlside Main Campus In Matthew 7, Jesus teaches that we can live life entering the “wide gate” (living in the ways of the world and our sin) or the “narrow gate” (living as disciples to Jesus). Following Jesus is the more difficult path to follow. This is why many choose to follow the ways of the world and their sin instead. Ultimately, this is Satan’s way of destroying our relationship with God and others and our life. Although following Jesus is harder, He promises the “narrow road” also leads to life. That is why Jesus compared building our life on His foundation to a wiseman who built his house on rock.
