British Movietone I don't have a car, but I know how problematic finding a parking place can be sometimes. Here are a few ways of getting around this issue from 1960.
Yes, parking's a problem. Been getting worse all the time, too. Fairly puts the motorist on the spot. The old story may shortly have a new nation-wide twist. A new bill proposes to deal with "obstruction" by means of "ticket" fines. Tickets to be handed out on the spot. Fourteen days to pay. Or you can go to court, if you prefer it! ® We interviewed a few people, asking them to comment on "ticket" fines. ® Mr Marples, the Minister of Transport, seeking to create order out of chaos, inspected a British Road Federation Exhibition in London. Ingenious methods were on show. Here are some variations, noted by our cameramen. ® Yes, what a problem parking is!
