Shrimp Cocktail!
Let me say first that my true inspiration for making this today was that I scored some bottles of THE BEST SHRIMP COCKTAIL SAUCE on the Earth at Woodman's - Buffalo Grove, IL
It is St. Elmo Steak House World Famous Shrimp
Cocktail Sauce. I even dip my buttered bread in it.
Haha!!
My first time I had it was at their Steakhouse in Indy. I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail it was Lights out! I got two more orders and was so full and happy that I never ordered a steak. Lol!
I like to use the Extra Jumbo Pink Wild Caught Shrimp from Key West
If frozen, thaw them out by running very cold water over them for 10-15 minutes. While they are thawing out pour water in a 4 quart Sauce Pan, add salt to your taste, add peppercorns, some chili powder and cumin ( you can create your own brine water) this is what I had on hand today. Bring the water to a boil, add the thawed shrimp lower to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes or until done
Put the Shrimp on a pan or plate, immediately in the fridge to cool them completely
Once they are completely cool, peel and devein them.
Pour yourself some of THE SAUCE and GET SOME!
