KRAVEN THE HUNTER ist die actiongeladene Ursprungsgeschichte, die zeigt, wie und warum einer der kultigsten Schurken von Marvel entstanden ist. Aaron Taylor-Johnson spielt Kraven, einen Mann, dessen komplexe Beziehung zu seinem skrupellosen Vater Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe) ihn auf einen Rachefeldzug mit brutalen Konsequenzen führt, der ihn dazu motiviert, nicht nur der größte Jäger der Welt zu werden, sondern auch einer der gefürchtetsten.
Die Regie führte J.C. Chandor („Triple Frontier“). Die auf den Marvel Comics basierende Story stammt aus der Feder von Richard Wenk, für das Drehbuch zeichneten Richard Wenk und Art Marcum & Matt Holloway verantwortlich. Produziert wurde der Film von Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach und David Householter.
Die Hauptrolle spielt Aaron Taylor-Johnson („Bullet Train“). An seiner Seite zu sehen sind Ariana DeBose („Argylle“), Fred Hechinger („The Woman in the Window“), Alessandro Nivola („The Many Saints of Newark“), Christopher Abbott („Poor Things“) und Russell Crowe („The Pope’s Exorcist“) u.v.m.
