The Windrush generation included individuals from countries such as Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and other Caribbean nations who were invited to come and work in sectors like transport, healthcare, and public services.

It emerged that many of them had been wrongly classified as illegal immigrants, even though they had lived in the UK legally for decades.
