SPENCE vs. CRAWFORD TICKETS SOLD OUT SAME DAY

Boxing fans who want to watch Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford fight from inside T-Mobile Arena next month will have to dig deep into their proverbial pockets for tickets to this welterweight showdown.
Prices for tickets made available during a 12-hour pre-sale Thursday through AXS.com ranged in price from $1,505 to $8,500. Almost all of those tickets to the Spence-Crawford card, which is scheduled for July 29 at the home arena of the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights, were in select sections either at ringside or within the lower bowl of the venue.
The pre-sale offered Thursday to select buyers began at 1 p.m. EDT/10 a.m. PDT and is scheduled to end at 1 a.m. EDT/10 p.m. PDT.
Tickets for Spence-Crawford will go on sale to the general public Friday at 1 p.m. EDT/10 a.m. PDT.
Prices for seats in sections not made available during Thursday’s pre-sale will be revealed Friday once tickets go on sale. Most of those tickets will be for seats in the upper bowl of T-Mobile Arena and therefore cheaper than the abovementioned prices.
Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs), of Omaha, Nebraska, and Spence (28-0, 22 KOs), of DeSoto, Texas, will fight for Crawford’s WBO 147-pound championship and Spence’s IBF, WBA and WBC belts. Their 12-round fight will headline a Showtime Pay-Per-View event.
Unless Crawford-Spence results in a draw or a no-contest, the winner will become boxing’s first fully unified welterweight champion of the four-belt era.
Tickets to the card headlined by Spence-Crawford, even at such steep prices, figure to be a hot commodity because boxing fans have wanted to see two of the sport’s top five fighters, pound-for-pound, square off for the better part of the past five years.
The 35-year-old Crawford won the WBO welterweight title in his 147-pound debut by battering Australia’s Jeff Horn on his way to a ninth-round technical knockout in June 2018 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The 33-year-old Spence has held his IBF championship since May 2017, when the strong southpaw knocked out Kell Brook in the 11th round at Bramall Lane, a soccer stadium in Brook’s hometown of Sheffield, England.
Spence-Crawford will be the second high-profile fight at T-Mobile Arena in barely three months. On April 22, Gervonta Davis’ seventh-round knockout of Ryan Garcia attracted an announced capacity crowd of 20,842 and generated approximately $22.8 million in ticket sales.
