TIM AMBLER'S professional career as a songwriter and musician began in Ireland and, during his many years living there, he became very fond of the rich tradition of Irish folk songs. Tim was delighted to be invited by ZYX Music to re-arrange and record two of these wonderful old songs, together with his producer Vadim Kulin. Earlier this year, ' Step it Out Mary' was released ahead of St. Patrick's Day. The song was received extremely well, making it to #31 on the popular Heritage Chart in UK, with the video being shown regularly on Hot Country TV in Ireland, in addition to extensive radio airplay.
Here now is the second of these recordings -- 'Star of the County Down'-- a charming story of 'love at first sight' set to a melody passed down through generations of Irish folklore. We hope you enjoy our new arrangement of this traditional Irish ballad.🎶💚
