Sacramento County fined after housing foster youth in WET Center

KCRA News For years, Sacramento County has placed kids in unlicensed facilities, moving them to an office building. The fire marshal said that the building was not designed to house people. Then, those children were placed in a wing of the Warren E. Thornton, or WET center, a former detention facility, another unlicensed site. The California Department of Social Services warned Sacramento County it would get fined if it placed any new children inside the Warren E. Thornton Youth Center.
