This tray-loading fully automatic turntable from 1984 actually detects the separation between audio tracks on a vinyl record and stores their positions so that you can press buttons to define the order in which you want to hear them. Even if you don’t want to change the lineup, this also allows you to press ‘skip’ to go past the current track and play the next.
It took quite a bit of time to figure out the mechanism, replace belts, stylus, and adjust the optical sensor and needle landing positions. This now lives happily in my audio equipment rack!
