Life Word Israel has conquered Jericho and the people of Eye. Joshua led the armies of Israel through several conquest and fear fell upon all the neighboring countries. All the countries round about Jericho were afraid. But a particular city will device a means to escape the rootless and terrifying conquest of the children of Israel. They will through guile deceive the princes of the children of Israel and make a covenant with them and through that they will be spared. Several years after, that covenant will be tempered with and Israel will incur the wrath of the Lord.
The Gibeonites are one nation that inhabited the land of Canaan of which the children of Israel were to conquer as an inheritance promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
