Recloaking Papatūānuku was presented to the world at side-event held at COP28 in Dubai alongside WWF-New Zealand. Recloaking Papatūānuku is an ambitious plan to restore and enhance 2.1 million hectares of native forest across Aotearoa New Zealand over the next decade. This is the live stream of the event where speakers and panellists explore the vital role of nature in our global climate response and emerging role of nature in meeting Nationally determined contributions (NDCs).
Hear opening remarks from Marama Royal (Chair of the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust and Co-Chair of Pou Take Āhuarangi/Climate Change lead for the National Iwi Chairs Forum), Simon Watts (Minister of Climate Change, New Zealand National Party) and Simon Millar (Executive Director of Pure Advantage).
We'll then speak to a panel of experts on nature-positive investment and what's needed from government, business, and civil society to get initiatives like Recloaking Papatūānuku off the ground on a global scale.
Panelists include Keith Tuffley (Citi), Alice Ruhweza (WWF) and Hon James Shaw (Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand); moderated by Kayla Kingdon-Bebb (WWF-New Zealand).
