The Wire It has been over two months since violence involving the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur broke out. The violence erupted after the Manipur High Court requested the state government to consider granting ST (Scheduled Tribe) status to the Meiteis. According to official data, over 70,000 people have been displaced, with more than 100 fatalities. Around 350 relief camps have been established for those affected. The Wire visited various relief camps in Manipur to understand the challenges faced by the displaced persons. What issues are the people of Manipur confronting? What are their demands?
