Practicum Israel Nahar Shertz is a front-end developer at Utopia Tech, where he builds websites, private client areas, and money transfer integrations. In the past year, Nahar transitioned from the hospitality industry as a restaurant manager into the high-tech industry. In his free time, Nahar assists other emerging talents in their career transition journeys in 1:1 sessions and lectures.
In this workshop Nahar will focus on:
- The transformation story - from restaurant manager to software development
- How did he find meetups and how are opportunities created there?
- How did he find himself mentors?
- How did he find a hackathon and what did it give him?
- Overview of his career transition journey.
After the workshop Ilan Shenkar, Head of Career Center at Practicum will share tips for self-presentation and will host a ‘speed networking session’ so you can practice your own networking skills.
Ilan Shenkar is Head of the Career Center in Practicum, he develops programs to prepare our bootcamp students to work in high tech industry and match them with employment opportunities in Israel. Ilan has 10 years of experience in social entrepreneurship, business development, and public policy in areas of employment and education.
This workshop is part of the Career Prep Course.
