In this video Yasir Qadhi from the Memphis Islamic Center explains the standard Muslim narrative regarding the divine Quran. Muslims often object to the Christian doctrine of the incarnation. They say that Christians are idolaters because we believe that Jesus is God. But their view of the Quran is not much different. The believe that the Quran is the eternal, uncreated word of God that became flesh. They believe the Quran is divine and that it is an attribute of God. Yet, they believe that the Quran can be held in their hands. They believe the Quran can be destroyed, burned and disrespected, and they get upset when people do it. Muslims often ask "How can God become a man"? Well, how can God become a book? They ask "How can God die"? Well, how can the divine Quran, one of Allah's attributes, be destroyed?
