Sermon Text: Job 38:1-3
We often speak with words without knowledge. These are usually statements about how we think God should be acting in the world but, even more so, also questions about why God is allowing us to suffer. Each of these questions mimics what the disciples asked God in the flesh (Jesus): Do you care that we are perishing? Does God care about us? We suffer, so it doesn't seem like it--but those are words without knowledge. God created the world. God made human beings and brought them together in marriages. He fashioned you within the womb from your parents. He provided your body and everything to support them. He continues to give you your daily bread. And the Lord came down from heaven in human flesh to suffer, die, rise again, and ascend for your salvation. Your God cares about you and He uses His Word to declare that you are His.
