Tuesday was a national disaster for America, and is likely to set off an unparalleled disaster globally. My immediate concerns are the welfare of the local LGBT community and the people of Palestine and Ukraine. How will they fend off authoritarianism and genocide when the most powerful country in the world has fallen to a movement that actively encourages it? How will the people of Israel move on from an autocrat like Netanyahu when the leader of the free world will enable him to do whatever he wants? I don’t have answers to those questions, but I can do the best I can to make life better for everyone. That’s the plan. It’s okay to be sad for a bit, but after that the job of making the world a better place resumes. We can’t stay home on our butts hoping for improvement. It is a lunch pail blue collar job to help others. So let’s get to work.
