Peter Dutton has ‘no plan’ for Australian motorists: Chris Bowen

Sky News Australia Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen has called out Opposition Leader Peter Dutton for having “no plan” for Australian motorists as they claim the government’s proposed vehicle emissions efficiency standards would increase car prices.
Yesterday, Bowen claimed there would be no purchase price impact on vehicles under the proposed emissions standards changes, despite the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries estimate that it could cost $38 billion over five years.
“That’s exactly what we’re doing – aligning Australia with the rest of the developed world to give Australians the same access to fuel-efficient vehicles that those in the United States, that those in Europe have,” Mr Bowen said during Question Time on Tuesday.
“The only people that don’t have access to those vehicles, as a matter of government policy, are the motorists of Australia and Russia.
“It might be good enough for the leader of the Opposition who has no plan.”
