This is the official documentary video for the first Star Trek Cruise to ever take place featuring The Next Generation as well as The Original Series, Seatrek '89 promoted by Joe Motes (who also promoted land based Star Trek and Sci-Fi conventions for over 30 years).
This cruise took place about a year and a half after Star Trek The Next Generation premiered on television.
The Star Trek cast members sailing were Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek's Creator), George Takei (Mr. Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura), Walter Koenig (Mr. Chekov), James Doohan (Mr. Scott), Grace Lee Whitney (Yeoman Rand), Majel Barrett (Nurse Chapel), Mark Lenard (Ambassador Sarek), William Campbell (Trelane and Koloth), John De Lancie (Q), Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar), Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) and Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi).
The ship was the SS Emerald Seas. The name of the cruise was changed this time from "Trekruise" to "Seatrek" at Paramount's request. Seatrek remained the name from then on.
The itenerary: Miami to Nassau, Bahamas, then to Little Stirrup Cay out island.
[Kenny's note: I attended this cruise also. Joe and I had promoted two Star Trek conventions together at this point so I was able to change my viewpoint from being a fan to being more behind the scenes.
The fun I had with my friends on this cruise has been unparalleled since. I can be seen in the "legs" contest (which I didn't win) and running around in some shots]
