Eid prayers in Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque overshadows Gaza war

ANI News Thousands of Palestinians offered Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque one of the holiest sites in Islam on April 10. The festive Muslim end of the holy month of Ramadan was overshadowed this year by the war in Gaza. As the talks to secure a ceasefire and hostage release deal between Israel and Hamas still appeared to be stalled. Despite the dire situation, more than 60,000 Palestinians offered Eid prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque. In the border city of Rafah, people were seen offering prayers by the ruin of a mosque in the shattered streets. Palestinians also visited the graves of loved ones killed in the last six months of the war in Rafah. Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam, which stood on a hill in the Old City of Jerusalem for more than 1,300 years.
