17-year-old Sam embarks on a three-day backpacking adventure through the Catskills with her father, Chris, and his best friend, Matt. Intended to be a memorable bonding experience, the trip quickly sours as Chris and Matt revert to their brotherly quarrels, bringing up old disputes. Sam, constantly trying to mediate, finds her efforts in vain. As tensions rise and boundaries are overstepped, Sam's patience runs out, and the weight of always being the "good one" starts to slip away.
