Northeast Ohio weather forecast: Cold temps continue after morning lake effect snow

WKYC Channel 3 Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for Feb. 29, 2024: While most of Northeast Ohio is dealing with clear, quiet and cold conditions this morning, some areas are dealing with a band of lake effect snow -- and traffic is seeing some impacts.
Areas east of downtown Cleveland in Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties have experienced some of the lake effect snow.
Clearing skies will eventually prevail by this afternoon. Temperatures will hang out in the upper 30s for highs. The milder air will be flowing in as early as Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, the warming trend will include scattered rain chances Friday night.
Showers will move out by Saturday morning expect some clearing through the day. Sunday is looking like the pick of the weekend. Skies will continue to shine bright Sunday along with most of us getting into the 60s Sunday.
Beyond this weekend, conditions will remain really warm for the first week of March. Shower chances look to hold off until midweek.
