Joel Embiid is on a mission this season primarily focused on his quest for a championship in Philadelphia. However, as NBA enters last two weeks of regular season, most valuable Player nomination is progressing fervently. Embiid was the MVP runner-up of Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić the years a row, and both will face off a game that could affect that race on Monday night Denver. Embiid went after MVP award in 2021 2022, both publicly and privately, but this year, 29-year-old tall man is at peak of his strength those closest to him believe there is a more organic approach to season. it can lead to a prestigious honor and the chance of a legitimate title. Embiid even found himself in a position where he gave rival star Jayson Tatum from Boston an MVP award and advice on how to pursue it. Speaking to the Athletic, Embiid said “I feel like I haven’t been chasing MVP for the last two years, but my mind was just thinking about him. So even at the beginning this season, when JT was out of the game and Boston was in this run, I told JT If I have a piece advice for you, don’t focus on MVP. Just focus on the right things, which is winning and dominating the games. Whatever it is that helps your team win, it is what you need to do, and then everything will take care of its own way. “So for me, in the last few years, it probably could have been an MVP or something, and that didn’t happen. I said I wouldn’t focus on that. I’ve come to a point where people get used to me and people place such expectations on me. The only way I can earn that respect is to win a championship. Whatever brought me the playoffs in a healthy way, that’s what I need do Starting the season not slow but step by step has worked well for me, up this point where I have played up this point and have only mastered offense and defense. “When you’re worried about the right things, like winning basketball and doing whatever it takes – whatever happens.” The turning point of season for the 76ers could be when team is dealing with injuries from James Harden and Tyrese Maxey and has to rely heavily on Embiid. At that time, the 76ers were still trying to find an identity, a balance between the cast roles. Harden was a 76ers 4-5 when he injured his foot on November 2. Harden returned to a record 12–11 on December 5, and his involvement in the lineup helped the 76ers rise rapidly. Since Harden's return on December 5, he and Embiid have held the 76ers to a record of 37–14. The 76ers currently hold third place in the 49–25 and Eastern Conference, behind the Milwaukee Bucks and Celtics. Embiid said, “Yes, I felt like everything was falling into place. “I think everyone is starting to understand their role. Everyone understood that everything had to go through Joel, and as soon as everyone followed it, we started. As an offender, when James isn’t playing, I have to take on different responsibilities, from playmaking to playmaking. I have the best quarterback in the world – James Harden. I don’t have to pass my teammates and play games all through the game. I like to score goals and often James sets me up to do that. And when he doesn’t play, I take on that role until playmaking. When we realized that it was going to go like this, that was what we needed to win.” Following a blockbuster trade that sent Ben Simmons from Philadelphia and Harden from Brooklyn last season, the 76ers suffered a second-round playoff defeat against the Miami heat. Harden returned with two-year $68 million contract and agreed a salary cut of about $15 million allow the franchise strengthen its rotation and give him stronger chance win. The second year of this deal is a player option, there is no doubt that there are significant expectations to finally pass organization-wide conference semifinals and reach the Eastern Conference finals potentially NBA Finals. Embiid recently met with Athletic to discuss his postseason-eve basketball form, the MVP race, whether this season is a championship or bankruptcy for him, 76ers organization and much more. This interview was lightly edited for brevity and clarity. You seem to be moving as well as I see you so late in a season – how do you feel? That was best thing I’ve felt in my entire career, especially at this late in the season and entering playoffs. This is my focal point. I think we have the right guys, so it’s all about us coming together and showing up and doing everybody’s job. I know you’re dealing with plantar fasciitis off-season. Did deal with it as you entered the season and how did manage to do it? Much better than when the season started. So I had a slow start to the first few games that dealt with it. It’s hard, but I think when that happened, the key was that we got over it. We caught up with that in the beginning, so we did a lot of things to make s
