Matthew 13:1-23 - Seed and the Sower
Parables are simple stories with a deeper spiritual meaning, but parables are not meant to reveal truth, they were meant to hide it.
The only ones to understand the meaning of the parables were the the disciples, because they were the only ones who asked what they meant. Jesus used the Parables as a kind of test to see if the hearts of the people were hard. Most of the people walked away thinking Jesus was giving them farming advice [how to plant seeds], but those who really waned to learn were given a far more powerful truth!
The Word of God is scattered like seeds into the world, but it only bears fruit when it falls on good soil!
