Outside of the crucial medical field, National Geographic listed various uses for hemp. Race cars, more environmentally friendly beer, and a protein boost for every meal can all be made using hemp now. An automobile designed by Henry Ford had an engine that could operate on hemp fuel and was manufactured entirely of hemp-based polymers. But, how is hemp beneficial to Elon Musk and his companies? And so, in today’s episode let’s take a closer look at how Elon Musk will make this happen!

According to Henry Ford, “Why use up the forests, which were centuries in the making, and the mines, which required ages to lay down, if we can get the equivalent of forest and mineral products in the annual growth of the hemp fields?”
Henry Ford created a car in 1941 that was made of plastic from hemp and other plant materials and operated on hemp gasoline. But, why don't we use it today? According to an article published in the New York Times on February 2, 1941, Ford's bioplastic Model T from 1941 was made of hemp, flax, wheat, and spruce pulp, making it ten times more durable than steel and lighter than fiberglass. The ethanol used in the automobile was produced from hemp or other agricultural waste. Ford's experimental model was considered a step toward the achievement of his desire to "grow automobiles from soil," according to Popular Mechanics in their December 1941 issue, and it also helped to minimize greenhouse emissions, which were already known to exist at the time.
Guy Callendar showed for the first time in 1938 that rising atmospheric CO2, the primary greenhouse gas, was to blame for the rise in Earth's temperature. Svante Arrhenius, a Swedish physicist, proposed a correlation between atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and atmospheric temperature as early as 1896, indicating that the burning of fossil fuels may eventually lead to accelerated global warming. Prior to this, global ecologist Alexander Humboldt foresaw human-caused climate change in 1807.
When acid rain and the greenhouse effect were being studied in the 1950s, an article stated that "America has consumed 80% of her known oil and gas reserves." By using fuels made from biomass, the warming effect will be reversed and acid rain will be reduced.
Ford stated in 1925 to the New York Times that "almost anything" may be used as fuel in the future, including fruit like the sumach growing by the road or apples, weeds, and sawdust. Every piece of vegetable matter that can be fermented has fuel. One crop of potatoes on an acre can provide enough alcohol to power the equipment required to work the fields for a century.
According to their findings, hemp is excellent for pyrolytic conversion into chemical feedstocks, transportation fuels, electricity, and heat for industrial uses.
“The same basic thermochemical decomposition process is used to refine both biomass and fossil fuels.” Ford stated.
According to experts, the need for batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) would rise by 30% between now and 2030. In light of this, the market for EV batteries should make roughly $410 between 2020 and 2030.
