Can't Stop Dancin', originally by Captain and Tennille, as performed on the fourth episode of Emu's All Live Pink Windmill Show (3rd August 1984). From an entertainment standpoint, it's a fun rendition. From a technical point of view, it's a marvel to watch. Just think of all the things that could have gone wrong! Remember: this is live television. Nowhere to hide; no second chances. Not only do the Pink Windmill Kids pull off the dance flawlessly, but you get to see how well-drilled the crew had to be, too. You don't often think about the logistics of getting from A to B in a studio, but everyone (dancers and camera operators) nails their job with military precision. If I had been the director or floor manager of this show, I'd have been in a permanent state of having kittens. But this clip alone is a real credit to all involved. Who'd be mad enough to commission a live show that did this sort of thing at such speed nowadays?
