Telling stories through my edited video has become an integral part of my life. Although I am not a pro editor yet, or an animator, I love to edit videos with whatever resources I have. Because the story telling should continue and the mediums may not matter. Anyways. 😅
So today I am bringing a story which I found in a game. Mountain Bike Xtreme is the name of the game. I am not endorsing the game. But as a player, I really liked it. But note of caution. It seems very simple game to play from outside, but in reality it's bit hard. But enjoyable.
And that's how I came up with a story of a mountain rider who kept trying his ass off to learn bike riding and wants to succeed at it. Because in the game if you do not control the bike speed and stunt manuvers, you get hit in the game as if in real life. It could be very painful in real life. But while playing the game you can keep going. (DON'T TRY THESE STUNTS IN REAL LIFE.)
So to tell the story I started with showing his enthusiasm. To show the same, I kept pushing controls for forward and backward stunts. And then he starts the journey and for that I compiled all the hitting the ground moments possible to record. And in the middle I gave him a moment which goes beyond the hurt, where he's just sitting and looking at the sky while the birds are passing by... And then he start his journey again...
And to justify his journey I have used, one of my most favourite, Aurora Runaway song. Because her sound, tone and somewhere calm yet eager to reach somewhere she belongs tone matches this edit. And most importantly, it was my gut feeling. So I just couldn't resist.
I am aware that in real life, getting hit so hard and getting back up physically and mentally is next to impossible. But take this story as a symbol of a journey of a pain which everyone takes to become successful at something we admire, love and are fond of. Otherwise it does not make sense to put efforts beyond normal capacity. But when we love something from the core, we just cross our comfort zones to achieve that. Because somewhere in our hearts we all want to go HOME. The feeling of being comfortable in our own skin for rest of our lives. But for that, at first, we must go through shit and hell.
I am sure you would love this story telling and video editing. All animation and graphics credit goes to the Mountain Bike Xtreme game developers. I am merely making out a story to tell.
