Wool and bodies.
After working with a local refuge and having conversations with the women using the refuge we wanted to make a piece that considered the challenges of survivors. Escaping the violence of their relationships, their restricted lives, and entering a refuge with new restrictions, controls and rules. They must remain hidden, anonymous, off electoral registers.... in order to be safe. The work also aims to reflect the safety of the community that they join. The protection of the other women and workers in the refuge.
