WDR Klassik Hoffnung auf Frieden. Mit sanften Tönen ist das der Kerngedanke dieses Konzerts, bei dem sich der einzigartige Sound des Raschèr Saxophone Quartet mit dem Gesang des WDR Rundfunkchores zu sphärischen Klängen verbindet. Ruhe und innere Einkehr verströmen die Stücke dieses Programms "gegen sinnlosen Krieg", auf Georgisch "Amao omi" – und Titel des Stückes von Kancheli. In seiner Motette "Warum ist das Licht gegeben" sinnierte Brahms über das Unbegreifliche, das Unergründliche. Er nannte dieses Chorstück eine "kleine Abhandlung über das große 'Warum'". Zudem spannen die beiden Ensembles mit Kompositionen von Glass und Pärt einen musikalischen Bogen voller Wärme und Licht.

Hope for peace. That is the core idea of this concert, in which the unique sound of the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet combines the singing of the WDR Radio Choir to create gentle tones and spherical sounds. Peace and inner contemplation are radiated by the pieces of this programme "against senseless war", in Georgian "Amao omi" - and the title of Kancheli's composition. In his motet "Why is the Light Given", Brahms pondered the incomprehensible, the unfathomable. He called this choral piece a "little treatise on the great 'why'". In addition, the two ensembles span a musical arc full of warmth and light with compositions by Glass and Pärt.
