"Russo-Balt" is a brand of a Russian car manufactured at the Russian-Baltic Carriage Works in Riga. The joint stock company of the Russian-Baltic Wagon Plant is an enterprise of the Russian Empire, which first specialized in the production of wagons, then mastered the production of trams, cars and aircraft.
In 1908, an automobile department was created in Riga. Julien Potterat, who previously worked for the Belgian company "Fondu", was invited to the position of chief designer. Fondue cars became the prototype of the first Russo-Balt.
This car was rebuild in 1978 and is now on demonstration at the Riga Motor Museum (Riga, Latvia)
