‘It just has value to me and my boyfriend’: Box with dog ashes stolen from Waco woman’s car

A Waco woman is desperately trying to find her boyfriend’s dog’s ashes. Someone recently stole them from her car that was parked at her apartment complex, Rivercrest Apartments, just across from the Ferrell Center.
Alexandria Mendoza’s boyfriend owned the black lab named Candy. Mendoza believes a thief stole Candy’s ashes because they thought it was a jewelry box.
On March 5 she was going back and forth from her apartment to her parked car to help her boyfriend move when someone broke into the unlocked vehicle.
“The car was completely wrecked, everything was completely thrown everywhere,” Mendoza said.
