We provide all in one waterproofs, all in one snowsuits, waterproof jackets, waterproof trousers and waterproof dungarees for children from age 9 months to 11 years.
This summer we have been trying out loads of fun traditional children's games. Many of the games we have tried have a competitive element and require one player to take on the vital role of 'it'. Every game of tig, rounders, dodge ball or Olly octopus requires a vital selection process. In some games like Duck, duck goose, everybody wants to be 'it', but in others games such as Piggie in the middle, being 'it' is not so much fun.
Our Rain-shine team like to figure out the selection process by the traditional 'toes in' method. All the players place one foot in the circle. They chant a rhyme, and by gradual elimination, the owner of the final foot is the chosen one.
Here's the rhymes we use. Maybe you know some more?
"Micky mouse is in his house,
Pulling down his trousers,
What colour are his pants?"
"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,
Catch a tigger by the toe.
If he squeals, let him go,
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe."
It's not good enough for an adult to create an order, or select a child. Being 'it' is all part of the game. It's something the children need to settle between themselves in a language that is fair and widely understood. Choosing who is 'it' is a serious business. It's almost a whole other game in itself. Children need to learn to negotiate, take turns, and test out leadership roles. Who's 'it' today? Let the kids decide!
