On February 8, 2024, Pakistan will head to the ballot box to vote for the country’s next prime minister. It comes amid the jailing of former prime minister Imran Khan, who was handed three jail terms in a week on charges of corruption and violation of a marriage law. Khan, who also received a suspended sentence in August 2023, is only the latest in a long list of former Pakistani prime ministers who have landed in jail over the country’s 75-year history. Here is a look at some of Pakistan’s most prominent former leaders who have served time.
