Dr. Shabir points out that a different reading of the verse is possible: the verse can be understood as emphasizing that Jesus was not killed by any means, whether ordinary (like execution or murder) or extraordinary (such as crucifixion). The term "crucifixion" in this context is interpreted to inherently imply death, meaning that the verse is not necessarily denying the event of the crucifixion but rather emphasizing that Jesus did not die as a result of it. This approach avoids the need to assert that another person was substituted in place of Jesus.
