Voor een onderzoek over het bindend studieadvies ging studenten van de hogeschool Utrecht de straat op om studenten te vragen wat zij van het bsa vinden. Een groot deel zegt dat het bindend studieadvies op dat moment misschien vervelend is, maar dat ze daar later in de studie wel steun aan hebben gehad. Wel pleiten ze voor een flexibele benadering waarin voldoende ruimte is om rekening te houden met persoonlijke omstandigheden.

For a survey on the binding study advice, students at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences went out on the streets to ask students what they think of the bsa. Many of them said that the binding study advice may have been annoying at the time, but that it helped them later in their studies. They do advocate a flexible approach in which there is enough room to take personal circumstances into account.
