Mark Robinson is a Republican candidate endorsed by former President Donald Trump and currently leading in polls for North Carolina's race for governor.
His political awakening came after he encountered conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh. Initially, Robinson had called Limbaugh a racist, only to change his perspective after reading Limbaugh's book 'The Way Things Ought to Be.' This transformation set the stage for Robinson's rapid rise in the political arena.
In 2018, Robinson gained viral fame after delivering a passionate speech at a city council meeting following the Parkland shooting. His impassioned defense of the Second Amendment catapulted him into the spotlight, and he decided to pursue a full-time career in public speaking.
Robinson soon made history as North Carolina's first Black lieutenant governor, winning his first political race.
