As we all know, tensions came to a head this week between Marjorie Taylor Green and Lauren Bobert after Bobert tried to force the vote on impeaching President Biden, Marjorie Taylor Green, according to sources, uh, called her a quote little on the house floor. And the reason Green was upset was because she said, Lauren Bobert stole my idea. She, she even accused Bobert on the house floor of copying her articles of impeachment. Like you took my articles and you put those. So we know why Green's mad. She still wants to impeach Biden. But after that whole rigamarole this week, Marjorie Taylor Greene, I don't know why I use that word. That's so weird. Marjorie Taylor Greene didn't interview with the independent. And in that interview, she made it clear that they are gonna try to impeach Biden because that's the deal she struck with Kevin McCarthy in exchange for her unwavering support of him throughout this year in the speaker battle where Marjorie Taylor Greene left the rest of her Freedom Caucus wackos to back McCarthy in the debt ceiling debacle when again, all of her Freedom Caucus former friends were furious.
Marjorie Taylor Green voted for it, even though she said it was terrible. She has a real name for it. I'll say that in a moment. But let me read you what Marjorie Taylor Green said about this, I guess deal she cut with McCarthy. Um, well first of all, she started off by telling the independent, like everybody's on my side on impeachment, talking about the American public, which is a hundred percent not true. Everyone knows that except our conference. And I made it clear to everyone at our conference that impeachment is what we should be doing here. Most of them haven't done, haven't even done their dues. I got the votes from McCarthy to come speaker. I voted on the debt ceiling bill, even though I called it a sandwich because I found things I liked in it. I gave cover to a whole bunch of Republicans, but I can't get my protect children's Innocence Bill passed.
I can't get that to happen protecting kids. And then I can't have them even start the process for impeachment. Like, I'm sorry, I'm done. This place needs to do something. And I made it clear this morning, and I'm not backing off of it, you're really not in a position to be making threats against your fellow Republicans. Um, you do realize that last year, actually the year before you were stripped of your committee assignments. You've only had them back for like six months now, and you're only six months into your second term as a member of Congress, okay? You don't have seniority over anything. You've been with McCarthy. Sure. And he is the most powerful Republican there, at least on paper. Clearly in practice, he is not. Um, but you're not in a position to demand anything.
Marjorie, certainly not to be issuing threats, but here's the thing. She's given up the game here. She's like, this is my deal. This is what, what I had to do with McCarthy. I supported him. I get to impeach Biden. And to that, I say, go ahead. Like there's literally no bad outcome. do that potential scenario of President Biden getting impeached because look it this way, we got three possible scenarios. One, they're unable to impeach him in the house and it automatically fails. Biden looks better. Two, they impeach him in the house and they don't remove him in the Senate.
