A large dugout in 100 days. We continue to work on our underground shelter construction project. Our goal is to build a cozy shelter with facilities for wintering in 100 days. We buried about 2,500 logs in the ground. 120 cylinders of mounting foam and a lot of foam were used to blow the gaps between the logs.
Let me remind you that our dugout has an area of more than 170 square meters. It has the shape of the letter Y. Each wing is at a different stage of construction, some are already covered with earth and interior work is underway, and some are just being built walls.
This video shows how we insulated the walls and sheathed them with boards. Of course, we understand that foam is not a natural material, but there is a war going on in our country and we need to build quickly and to make housing comfortable.
This video also shows the process of drilling a well to supply water to the dugout. It rained heavily for two weeks and our dugout flooded a little, we had to pump out the water with a pump. The problem with our underground house is that the groundwater is quite close. In order to prevent the dugout from being flooded with groundwater, drainage and drainage are made in each wing, and containers are buried on the edge, from which we can pump water out of the dugout with pumps.
In general, we should have time to build the dugout within the set time. Currently, there is some problem with the supply of materials for internal work in the dugout, but it is being solved.
In total, we plan to shoot three series on the construction of our cozy dugout, so this is the second and there will be a third final. Perhaps we will also edit one video of how the dugout was built from start to finish.
The dugout is planned to have water heating with a solid fuel boiler, a kitchen, as well as showers and sinks with hot water, a sauna, a clothes dryer, etc.
