The research project by Kay W. Axhausen, ETH Zurich, expanded the existing MATSim transport simulation with epidemiological data in order to better understand the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and the impact of protective measures in the context of the corona pandemic. The project was also able to provide important prognoses on the capacity of intensive care units and thus support political decision-makers.
