Just because the weather is chilly and the days are shorter doesn't mean you need to turn away from a sweet and yummy concoction. It's with this refusal of reality that Sharon whipped up this delightfully balanced libation she calls, "The French Grenade."
Yes, we know...the French aren't necessarily known for their wartime prowess, but what they ARE known for is excellent wine, and in the case of this cocktail, a dessert wine that has been fortified with cognac.
So, join Sharon as she goes through the making process of a (non-explosive) French Grenade!
INGREDIENTS:
► 2 oz dessert wine
► ¾ oz grenadine
► ¾ oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
► 5-6 dashes of bitters
► Spoonful of Herbsaint Liqueur
► Large ice
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Add wine, grenadine, lime juice, bitters, and Herbsaint into a shaker.
2. Add ice and shake.
3. Double strain over ice.
4. Garnish with lime twirl.
