Imagine this. It's early May. You're at the bus stop waiting for the bus to take you to one of the last few days of 8th grade. The sun is shining gently and warmly down upon you. The morning doves coo softly to each other from their perches. Dew drops from the night prior are slowly evaporating into the air as the day begins to warm up more and more. The low rumble of a lawnmower pushed by one of your neighbors rounds out the idyllic springtime soundtrack. Life is good.
Okay, now take that feeling and put it into a cocktail. This is that cocktail. Seriously. We don't just make up the names of these drinks all willy-nilly. This cocktail is loaded with all of the elements that suggest a renewal of life, just like springtime in the Midwest. From the warmth of mezcal to the freshness of mint, the Springtime Nostalgia is sure to bring you back to the days when the toughest decisions you had to make was which one of your friends you were gonna sit by on the bus ride to school.
INGREDIENTS:
► 1 oz Arette Tequila Blanco
► ¾ oz Forthave "Yellow" Genepi Liqueur
► 1 oz Condesa Prickly Pear and Orange Blossom Gin
► ¼ oz mint simple syrup
► ½ oz fresh squeezed lime juice
► Mezcal spritz
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Add tequila, genepi, gin, simple syrup, and lime juice to a shaker.
2. Add ice.
3. Shake for 20-30 seconds.
4. Strain into glassware of your choice.
5. Spritz with smoky mezcal
6. Fall into the sweet memories of simpler times from your past.
