More aid to Ukraine as US defense chief Austin makes unannounced visit to Kyiv

ShanghaiEye魔都眼 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with visiting U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in Kyiv on Monday on military aid for Ukraine.
Austin announced $100 million in new military aid to Ukraine during a surprise visit, assuring officials of long-term American support.
“I think they(Ukraine) are prepared for combat in the winter and certainly they did a great job last year. This year we expect for them to be just based upon what the president has said, President Zelenskyy has said, for them to be even more aggressive.”
The United States has provided more than $44 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since Russia-Ukraine conflict started since February 2022.
Same day, Japan donated trucks and demining devices to Ukraine's State Emergency Service
Kazuchika Iwata, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kiyoto Tsuji were greeted by Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymeko.
Forty pick-up trucks and fifty demining devices were lined up at Kyiv's central St. Sophia's square for the handover ceremony.
As the leaders exchanged handshakes, emergency services workers took the trucks for a test drive.
