As we come before you today, we reflect on your teachings, Lord. Your teachings instruct me to bring every thought into submission to the Will of Christ. Lord Jesus, I implore you to assist me in this aspect of my life. Help me safeguard my thought life, Lord, every sinful thought. Aid me in capturing and subduing every impure and self-centered thought. Lord, I beseech you to aid me in restraining these thoughts and casting them aside. May the Holy Spirit guide me in directing my focus towards heavenly matters. Often, Lord, my natural eyes perceive only the obstacles or the seemingly insurmountable challenges surrounding me. However, I pray that you would enlighten my spiritual perception, opening my spiritual eyes so that I may behold the presence of angels encamping around me, and witness the favor and grace you have bestowed upon my life. I pray that the Holy Spirit fills me with courage and audacity, reminding me that I am no longer enslaved by fear, but I am a child of God. I have not been imbued with a spirit of fear, but of strength, love, and a balanced mind. Help us comprehend, Lord Jesus, that the true path of righteousness is the one you describe in Matthew 16:24-25. Your word states that Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Lord Jesus, you call upon us to renounce self-centeredness and set aside our personal interests. You call us to embrace our crosses, signifying our willingness to endure whatever challenges may arise for the sake of your name.
